With IFA 2014 getting underway in Berlin in less than 24 hours and is promising to be one of the biggest tech events of 2014 where tech giants will be battling it out and putting all their cards on the table ready for an array of judgement.
Here, I have round up of what is expected to show up at the event from various tech giants around the world from the likes of Sony, Nokia, Samsung, LG, etc.
Samsung is sure trying to hog most of the attention at IFA 2104 this year, or at least it looks like that from the multiple teasers that have been released in build up to the event!
It’s nearly 100% certain that Samsung will release the galaxy Note 4 at their unpacked press conference tomorrow in Berlin. The Note 4 is expected to pack a whopping 5.7in, 2K screen, a Retina scanner and a UV sensor, and come in a premium metal version with a flexible display. For now we will have to wait and see, but be sure to tune in once samsung has officially announced the Note 4 for a roundup of specs, release date and pricing.
It looks pretty certain that samsung will be releasing a new smartwatch named samsung gear S (solo). However, there are rumours for another smartwatch from samsung, but this time with a round-face to take competition form the likes of Motorola Moto 360 and LG G Watch R.
Every year LG seems to announce its products before the event begins and with no great surprise this year is no different. The LG G Watch G has been announced and comes with a rounded face and runs android wear, LG’s first fully round faced smartwatch.
LG has also recently unveiled the LG G3 stylus, which is another addition to G3 line up. So we can expect to learn lot more about this phablet during the 2014 event.
Nokia are preparing to reveal the Lumia 830, Nokia Lumia 735 and Nokia Lumia 730 in Berlin. The Nokia lumia is expected to have a 4.5 to 4.7 inches with 720p display, a 20-megapixel PureView camera and a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor.
The Nokia Luima 730 is a humble 4.7-inch 720p device with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and a 5-megapixel front facing camera for the selfie loving individual. The Nokia Lumia 730 is expected to have a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, a polycarbonate build and a 2,000mAh battery with 3G connectivity. On the other hand the Lumia 735 could be a 4G variant. Only time time will tell.
Another company that is expected to make another big announcement during IFA is Sony, and like samsung we seem to already have a fairly good idea what it might be. Sony is expected to announce their new flagship device the Sony Xperia Z3, a successor of it most recent Xperia Z2. The Z3 is expected to boast a 5.2-inch 1920x1080p Trilumnos IPS LCD display with 424ppi, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocking in at 2.5GHz with a Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, a 20.7-megapixel rear facing camera and 2.2-megapixel front facing camera – still great for the selfie! IP58 water and dust resistance is also on the cards for sony’s Xperia Z3.
With IFA 2014 starting tomorrow we can be sure that companies will raise the bar once again with new innovative ideas. Please leave comments below on what your you’re looking forward to most in Berlin.
