With the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 now official, all the speculation, leaks and rumours can be brushed aside as samsung’s new powerhouse device is upon us.
As many expected the Note 4 has 5.7″ quad HD super Amoled screen, with an resolution of 2560×1440, giving even more access to colour space than previous models like the Note 3. The Note 4 has cut metal frame, with ‘natural’ curvature.
The Note 4 will be released in four colour variants white, black, gold and pink (well for now, as we know samsung like to release a entire array of colour for their devices)
Samsung expressed the new S pen as a way in which ‘bridges the world from analog writing to digital expression’. Significant improvements to the stylus’s sensitivity aim to deliver a user experience that’s even more akin to natural handwriting. New software tweaks improve Air Command and allow for things like selecting multiple on-screen elements at once.
The camera is fairly medicore by todays standards, but still packs a 16 MP shooter with smart OIS. By the looks of things samsung were really trying to push the front facing camera at their keynote today. The front facing camera has 3.2MP, and in addition to sensors allow 60% more light in, allowing you to take the best possible selfies!
The battery has been upgraded from 3200mAh to 3220mAh and samsung claims that it can go from 0-50% charge in 30mins, which for the size of the battery, is quite impressive.
The Note Edge
It’s in the name really. The Note edge is the first smartphone to boast a wrap around screen, well at least on one side of it! The wrap around screen is placed on the right side of the phone, allowing scrollable panels that contain information and notifications that will not clog up the main screen. The Note Edge has another quad HD screen, the same as the Note 4.
In my opinion the Samsung gear S is not most beautiful thing to look at, but it certainly packs a punch! The smartwatch is packed full of features, especially targeting your personal lifestyle. Samsung described the S gear a health mate to help you stay fit, if you’re in to that sort of thing…
Gear S has full qwerty keyboard functionality. Connectivity allows you to retrieve or even send messages, or get step by step directions when your phone is far away. To no surprise the Gear S allows you to personalisation by having a variety of straps to choose from.
Retail availability is not set in stone but Samsung has pointed at a October release date. However, for the Note Edge the realise date ‘is later this year’.
